Your color consultation

How a color appointment works

The plan, the number of visits, and the price are agreed before anything is mixed.

  1. 01

    Call and share your goal

Ask for Vanessa and describe the change you want, or the color you want fixed. It helps the salon reserve the right amount of time.

  2. 02

    Show and tell

Bring photos of color you love and color you do not. Tell Vanessa what is on your hair now, including box dye, henna, or a vivid from months ago.

  3. 03

    Agree on the plan

Vanessa explains the service she recommends, how many visits it may take, the upkeep, and the price, all before any color is mixed.

  4. 04

    Color and finish

Your color is applied and processed, toned if it needs it, then finished with a style and a home care routine you can follow.

Color care on the coast

Keeping color bright near the beach

Sun, salt, and pool water all pull color out faster. A few habits make a real difference between appointments.

  • Sun

UV light fades color and pushes blonde toward brass. Wear a hat on long beach days and use a leave-in with UV protection.

  • Salt water

Salt dries hair and roughens the cuticle, which lets color slip out. Rinse with fresh water as soon as you are out of the ocean.

  • Pool chlorine

Wet your hair with clean water and smooth on a little conditioner before you swim, so it soaks up less chlorine. Chlorine can tint light blonde green.

  • Hard water

Minerals in tap water build up on hair and dull it. A filtered shower head helps, and Vanessa can tell you whether a clarifying treatment suits your color.

  • Washing

Wash with cool water and a color-safe shampoo, and skip a wash when you can. Every wash takes a little color with it.

  • Toner

Gloss and toner fade sooner than the color underneath. If your blonde warms up between visits, ask whether a toner refresh is all it needs.

Pricing

What hair color costs

Color is priced by the work your hair needs, so Vanessa quotes after she has seen it. Your quote comes at the consultation, before any color is mixed.

  • Your length and density, which set how much color it takes
  • The service, and whether a toner or gloss is part of it
  • For corrections, how many steps and visits the plan needs
  • Adding a cut or style to the same appointment

How much does hair color cost?

It depends on your length and density, the service, and whether a toner, gloss, or cut is part of the visit. Vanessa quotes at your color consultation, before any color is mixed. Call 386-872-2263 to schedule.

Which color service should I book?

Describe your goal when you call and the salon will book the right consultation. As a rough guide: balayage for a soft, sunlit grow-out, highlights for brightness from the root, gray coverage for even color over gray, color correction to fix a result you do not like, and vivid color for a bold shade. Each has its own page on this site.

Do I need a consultation before my color?

Yes. Every color appointment starts with one. Vanessa looks at your natural shade, the color already on your hair, and how often you want to come back, then explains the plan, the number of visits, and the price before anything is mixed.

What should I tell Vanessa about my hair before a color appointment?

Everything that has been on your hair in the last couple of years: salon color, box dye, henna, lightener, vivids, and smoothing treatments. Some products react with lightener or change how color takes, so a full history helps her plan safely.

How long will my color appointment take?

It depends on the service and on your hair. A root touch-up is usually much shorter than a correction or a big change. Ask when you call so the salon can reserve the right amount of time.

What color brand does Vanessa use?

Goldwell. She works with all five of its color lines: Topchic, Topchic Zero, Colorance, Elumen, and LightDimensions lighteners. The Goldwell page on this site explains what each one does.

Can I get color and a cut the same day?

Usually, yes. Ask for both when you call so enough time is reserved. Color normally goes first, then the cut and style, so the shape is cut into your finished color.

Is the salon in Daytona Beach?

The salon is at 236 Riverbeach Dr., Ormond Beach, FL 32176, in Ormond Beach just north of Daytona Beach. It is a short drive from Daytona Beach, Holly Hill, South Daytona, and Daytona Beach Shores, with appointments until 8pm Wednesday through Friday.
